Transferable Substrate w/ Laser HeatingA custom transferable substrate holder for high temperature deposition with 0-25 RPM rotation and laser heating to 1100°C in oxygen. The laser heats the substrate from behind, while the sample exchange is effected using only a low-cost magnetically-coupled transfer arm. Thermally stable, non-reactive materials were used extensively. |

The substrate holder is introduced from the load lock and held in place via Twist-N-Lock engagement, and is removed by the same mechanism. This hand-off mechanism has proven to be very reliable. | |
